Banks have a duty to protect their customers from fraud. Sadly in the modern world, fraud is becoming an every increasing risk to all and the level of sophistication means that anyone could be a victim. This means that the banks must adhere to the principles they have agreed are necessary in protecting customers and ultimately, refunding lost money when they don’t. As a large proportion of disputes end up with the Financial Ombudsman Service, it is vital complaints are thorough and supported by evidence.
